Robert Amyot, MD (Cardiology), CEO — President

Robert Amyot graduated in medicine from the University of Mon­treal in 1992 and subsequently gained fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in internal medi­cine in 1995, and in cardiology in 1996. Working as a cardio­lo­gist at the Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur in Montreal, he heads the non-invasive endothelial function assessment laboratory and conducts preclinical and clinical research in echocardiography. Dr. Amyot was promoted Associate Professor of the University of Montreal’s internal medicine department in 2007.

With over 60 scientific publications to his name and having parti­cipated as an investigator in more than 30 clinical trials, mainly in the field of ultrasonography, Dr. Amyot is considered a Canadian leader in the field of stress and contrast echo. His most recent publications have focused on the efficiency of different echo trai­ning modalities for non-traditional echo users.

Dr. Amyot also acts as Scientific Director of ICCU Imaging, a mul­timedia company dedicated to critical care ultrasound education, founded by Dr. Yanick Beaulieu.

Jean-Marc Rousseau, PhD, Mathematician — Vice-President, Technology

Jean-Marc Rousseau is an independent consultant and adminis­trator. He is Chairman of the board of GIRO inc., a software de­veloper specializing in transit scheduling, and Vice-President of Cyberlude, an educational software company. He is an advisor for the Canadian Technology Network, as well as CEO of Rcm2 (Réseau de calcul et de modélisation mathématique).

M. Rousseau has extensive experience in the high-tech industry. He was CEO of CIRANO (Centre interuniversitaire de recherche en analyse des organisations) from 2002 to 2005. Previously, he co-founded and acted as Vice-President R&D for GIRO inc. (1979–2000), Director of the University of Montreal’s Centre for Research on Transportation (1979–1987) and Professor of Com­puter Science and Operation Research at University of Mon­treal (1973–1992).

He obtained a PhD in Operation Research from MIT in 1973, is the author of more than 80 scientific papers and received num­erous prizes and distinctions throughout his career. He is co­foun­der of Vimedix, for which he acts as Vice-President of Techno­logy.

Yanick Beaulieu, MD (Cardiology) — Vice-President, Market Development

Yanick Beaulieu completed his medical degree at McGill Uni­ver­sity, after which he trained in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, focussing on echocardiography, at the University of Montreal. He then went on to complete a 2-year fellowship in multidisciplinary Critical Care at the University of Pittsburgh’s Medical Center.

Dr. Beaulieu is currently an Assistant Professor in the De­part­ment of Medicine at the University of Montreal and is a practicing cardiologist-echocardiographer and intensivist at Hôpital du Sa­cré-Cœur in Montreal. He is Director of the Bedside Ultrasound Curriculum. Dr. Beaulieu has published multiple articles and book chapters on the topic of Bedside Ultrasound in the Intensive Care Unit. He has developed a full curriculum on the Use of Bedside Ultrasonography in Critical Care that he currently teaches to in­ten­si­vists and other critical care specialists at the national and in­ter­national level.

He is the president of ICCU Imaging, a multimedia company de­di­ca­ted to critical care ultrasound education.

Stéphane Pilette, M.Sc.A., Biomedical Engineer — Vice-President, Operations

Stéphane Pilette graduated in mechanical engineering from Mon­treal’s École Polytechnique in 1991 and obtained a Master’s de­gree in biomedical engineering in 1997. He worked in technology project management in the fields of sports equipment, auto­mo­ti­ve, powersports and others. He is co-inventor on several patent applications.

Stéphane Pilette is Vice-President, Operations, at Vimedix, where he manages technological development work.
